The Canadian Kinesiology Alliance / L’Alliance canadienne de kinésiologie (CKA / ACK) is a non-profit corporation that advocates and promotes the advancement of the profession of kinesiology in Canada. The CKA / ACK strives to be recognized as the unifying voice for the profession of kinesiology in Canada, and to have a positive impact on Canadians. Kinesiologists provide services to improve human movement and deliver quality solutions through prevention, objective assessment, and evidence-based interventions.

On a national level, the CKA / ACK represents seven provincial kinesiology associations (PKAs) that are member associations and over 3,500 affiliated Kinesiologists by developing progressive partnerships with other national organizations, providing support to effect positive change within government and public policy, and by promoting the science of Kinesiology. The CKA / ACK advances our member associations, PKAs, by facilitating national and interprovincial communication and partnerships and by supporting and encouraging ongoing development of PKAs. The CKA / ACK establishes and promotes the standards of the profession across Canada.

The CKA / ACK launches a new tool for students

a passage from academics to practice of kinesiology

OTTAWA, March 21st, 2018 – As part of the 2018 KinGames from March 22nd to 24th in Edmonton’s University of Alberta, the CKA / ACK launched #KinStartUpKit , a website dedicated to helping students of Kinesiology and Physical Activity as they enter the work force or  continue futher studies.  That’s why #KinStartUpKit is a great tool for undergraduates and graduates to get started as Kinesiologists. The CKA / ACK, together with its partner Hexfit Solutions, invited students to take the time to better understand how Kinesiology is practiced in Canada and thus help students achieve their career goals.

Effective Exercise Prescription for Kinesiologists

Locations: Lifemark Health Centre 2121 29th Street NE Calgary, 154 Meadowlark Center, Edmonton

The primary goal of this practical hands-on course is to improve kinesiologists’ understanding and clinical skills in order to effectively achieve clients’ rehabilitation goals. An alternative exercise model of optimum muscular control and improved biomechanics will be clearly presented.

Course participants will be more confident in recognizing common pitfalls of exercises, including body compensation strategies during various exercises used to rehabilitate familiar conditions
