The Canadian Kinesiology Alliance / L’Alliance canadienne de kinésiologie (CKA / ACK) is a non-profit corporation that advocates and promotes the advancement of the profession of kinesiology in Canada. The CKA / ACK strives to be recognized as the unifying voice for the profession of kinesiology in Canada, and to have a positive impact on Canadians. Kinesiologists provide services to improve human movement and deliver quality solutions through prevention, objective assessment, and evidence-based interventions.

On a national level, the CKA / ACK represents seven provincial kinesiology associations (PKAs) that are member associations and over 3,500 affiliated Kinesiologists by developing progressive partnerships with other national organizations, providing support to effect positive change within government and public policy, and by promoting the science of Kinesiology. The CKA / ACK advances our member associations, PKAs, by facilitating national and interprovincial communication and partnerships and by supporting and encouraging ongoing development of PKAs. The CKA / ACK establishes and promotes the standards of the profession across Canada.

OTTAWA, March 21st, 2018 – As part of the 2018 KinGames – Kinesiology Games - from March 22nd to 24th in Edmonton’s University of Alberta, the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance / Alliance canadienne de kinésiologie (CKA / ACK) launches #KinStartUpKit , a website dedicated to helping students of Kinesiology and Physical Activity as they are to enter the work force or to continue studies in specialties.  That’s why #KinStartUpKit is a great tool for undergraduates and graduates to get started as Kinesiologists. The CKA / ACK, together with its partner Hexfit Solutions, invites students to take the time to better understand how Kinesiology is practiced in Canada and thus help students achieve their career goals.

The Canadian Kinesiology Alliance/Alliance canadienne de kinésiologie (CKA/ACK) is currently accepting curriculum vitae (CVs) for individuals interested in joining our Board of Directors. 

The ideal candidate should be able to represent the interests of their fellow Kinesiologists while assisting with the progression of the CKA/ACK initiatives. This individual should be well versed in the provincial and federal climate of the profession and have a general understanding of the Universities graduating Kinesiologists and the various courses offered within the programs. An appreciation of the history of their provincial kinesiology association and development of the profession in their province would be valuable

Effective Exercise Prescription for Kinesiologists

The primary goal of this practical hands-on course is to improve kinesiologists’ understanding and clinical skills in order to effectively achieve clients’ rehabilitation goals. An alternative exercise model of optimum muscular control and improved biomechanics will be clearly presented.

Course participants will be more confident in recognizing common pitfalls of exercises, including body compensation strategies during various exercises used to rehabilitate familiar conditions
